Freedom to Learn (FTL) is a statewide initiative aimed at improving student achievement and engagement in our Michigan schools. Nearly 30,000 students are currently learning in a one-to-one environment, from one of the 100 participating school districts around the state. Each school has had many of their own unique stories experiences.
Do you have any experience to share from your one-to-one school? Please use this post as an opportunity to comment and share some of these experiences with the rest of the FTL community. Feel free to share your school building's story, a student's story or even a specific highlight of one-to-one learning in your classroom.

greetings...let us know what your success and lessons have been the past week
Willow Run MS, for the second year in a row, has shown significant student achievement increases on MEAP...HOORAY!! Congrats to WRMS.
We want to say thanks to EUPISD staff who have helped with WRMS's item analysis tool. These efforts clearly have made a difference in the school's success. WRMS faculty have implemented instructional calendars and benchmark assessments. There is a strong focus on student success. EUPISD and WRMS will continue to collaborate using ClassServer :)
The Academy of Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills will be visiting Bear Lk HS. THey have implemented a one to one environment using tablets and are looking for high school sites to visit. Anyone else have something to share w/ them?
We invite you to frequently visit this blog and include your thoughts and experiences. Thanks to Kate Kennedy for setting us up!!

The University of Memphis will shortly publish the FTL student achievement results based on last year's MEAP tests. We also have contracted w/ them to do the same for this year. FYI.

I am the Technology Director at Clare Public Schools, Michigan. Our Middle School is FTL - one-to-one. As with most Michigan schools, we are concerned with financing and continuing the one-to-one program. Our teachers comments include: "I don't know how I would teach without them now", refering to the laptops. "the are a wonderful tool, never thought I would say that" (I never thought he would either). We need to find inovative ways to continue and enhance this program. I am open to ideas from other bloggers. Thanks.
